Generally speaking, the TRICONEX 3636R has inherent low conduction loss due to its lower conduction voltage (approximately 1.8 to 2.2 V for IGCT). 2.8 to 3.5 V for IGBTs with comparable rated voltage. In the case of the latest IGBT, the switching loss is equivalent or ultimately slightly reduced (higher on loss and lower off loss).
